Indeed, the advent of hydrogen and its large-scale usage promise challenges for airports since it will revolutionize the way their infrastructures are designed and operated.
This open innovation initiative is a key step to initiate together this technological breakthrough across the entire hydrogen value chain within the airport city.

We are looking for inspired partners who offer disruptive solutions to develop with us the hydrogen hub airport. Together, let’s enable the widespread use of hydrogen in the airport ecosystem starting today and make tomorrow’s decarbonated aircraft take off.
We aim to qualify technologies and R&D advances, and identify innovative solutions on a global scale across the entire hydrogen value chain: from its production, liquefaction and storage, to its distribution and use cases
Storage solutions (systems, materials, etc.), transportation, micro-liquefaction, and distribution.
Diversification of services and uses - land or rail mobility, aircraft ground service equipment, logistics equipment, general aviation, aircraft refueling system, etc
Recovery of hydrogen dissipated during liquid hydrogen refueling, recovery of a by-product of a reaction in order to produce decarbonated hydrogen, and cross-disciplinary and exploratory initiatives reinforcing hydrogen’s sustainability.

The challenge is open to corporations, SMEs, startups, and academia (research and universities) around the world. Consortiums are accepted.
Applicants may propose a product or solution that could be implemented within the next 18 months. The product or solution ready for implementation must be associated with a competitive business case that ensures its economic viability throughout the whole value chain.
It will also be possible to present an R&D project, product, or solution that could be implemented within the next 5 years and that could be developed or replicated on different sites.
